Hublot King Power Chrono Flying Tourbillon Limited Edition Replica

The hand-wound limited edition Hublot King Power Chrono Flying Tourbillon brings you a chunky piece of microblasted ceramic whole 48 millimeters in diameter and full of ahem masculine presence that comes courtesy of its relatively thick and deliberately rugged-looking body that measures impressive 14.5 millimeters from top to bottom.

The movement

The Swiss watch maker Hublot has presented yet another iteration of its sporty King Power chronograph model. This time, it is a hand-wound timepiece sporting a power reserve of 120 hours and a tourbillon chronograph with direct coupling on the cage.

According to the Swiss brand, the Hublot King Power Chrono Flying Tourbillon is powered by a HUB1400CT caliber that we have already seen in a number of their earlier models, including the Big Bang Gold Mat as well as the Hublot Bigger Bang All Black.

As far as I understand, the Caliber HUB1400CT is based on the well-known HUB1400 movement sans the automatic winding module and with the maximum power reserve increased to impressive five days (120 hours!)

This intricate powerplant is made of 262 components and comes equipped with a Flying Tourbillon complication, which is placed in a cage without ball bearings. When assembled and running, the tourbillon looks like it hovers in thin air on a magnetic cushion.

The dial

Judging by the press photos, the Hublot King Power Chronograph Flying Tourbillon sports replica watch the same general layout as the dials of other numerous chrono-tourbillons of the Swiss brand. However, it is packed inside a much more massive case measuring generous 48 millimeters in diameter.

As usual, the case preserves the signature styling of the series with a fixed bezel attached to the multi-part case with six titanium black screws with familiar H-shaped heads. The oversized winding crown with the brand’s famous logo is also on its rightful place at 3 o’clock.

The case

Both the case and the bezel of the monstrous timekeeper are made of microblasted black ceramic and feature black rubber inserts.

Hublot promises that the watch, which will be available in a limited run of 28 pieces, and is water resistant up to 100 meters. Although the WR rating doesn’t sound very impressive, it still makes the pricey watch a lot more practical: you clearly won’t ruin the delicate mechanism with water unless you are arrogant enough to take the timepiece for one of your scuba diving expeditions. Still, given its impressive size, wearing this watch may not be as pleasant as one could possibly imagine: unless you are a die-hard fan of oversized timekeepers, there is a great chance that you would have to make some amends to your wardrobe in order to accommodate this huge beast on your wrist without losing all the comfort.
